I must confess the reviews about this hotel had us concerned initially, talk of dingy corridors and bunker like breakfast room was one description we saw on the web before starting our holiday. But on the contrary the corridors were bright, the breakfast room very nicely decorated and the breakfast was very good. The staff were very pleasant and it was ideally located for us, quiet yet only 5 - 7 minutes by tram from Dam Square, on a direct route. Our room was very clean, large enough for the four of us. The view from our window was not very good, but we were only there to sleep and have breakfast, too much to do and see in Amsterdam to stay and look out the window. I really feel you done us proud, thank you again. Malcolm Hobbs

Initially we were a bit concerned by distance from the centre. But it turned out to be ideal, quiet and only 5 minute tram ride to city centre. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was very good.

The hotel was nice, the only thing we had a problem with was the size of our room which was very small. But apart from that we had no problems with the hotel.

one other bad thing, we asked for a double bed/double room. but we got a double with two single beds put together, which was very uncomfortable.

this hotel was very nice and situated in a pretty part of the city. unfortunately we were advised it was in the city center but from central station its a good 30 mins walk. but once you get used to the travel you can easily jump on any of the trams that run from the hotel to central. im afraid the breakfast in all the four days i was there was not fitting at all. being a british and vegetarian, i do like warm breaksfasts or at least cakes and pastries. there was only cold cuts available. also the breakfast room was usually closing by 9.30am even though it states breakfast is from 7am to 10am. overall the hotel staff were very friendly and always willing to help with directions in getting to places. we were also impressed with the free service to the local diamond factory which left us out of pocket on some expensive gifts, which no doubt we will enjoy. thank you

I enjoyed my stay! The rooms were a bit small, but the big beds make up for it. The staff was very nice and provided much assistance and information about the city.

nice hotel, easy walking distance from to city centre. Hot dogs for breakfast are not my thing but would definately stay again.

the first night we were put in a dingy basement room which was just big enough to swing a cat. We were then moved to an upstairs room where you could not even swing a cat. Good location in amsterdam, average breakfast buffet, not value for money, will not be staying there again.

The room we were put in on our first night wasn't all that pleasant. However the helpful staff were happy to change us into a different room for the remainder of our stay. The hotel is located in a lovely part of the city, near the Zoo, with very nice bars and restaurants around it. The trams run past the hotel so it's very convenient for travelling to and from the centre.

I enjoyed very much the hotel, it is nice, very well located, and mainly, the service (including the breakfast) was the best.
